🌱 Emotional Connection to Nature Emotional connections to nature are planted in play. Whether it’s pedaling along a garden path, watching bees buzz by, or picking wildflowers, children are developing more than motor skills. They are cultivating care. 💚 Play is a natural bridge between curiosity and compassion. When kids explore the outdoors with joy and freedom, they’re also forming meaningful bonds with the world around them. These early connections can blossom into lifelong environmental stewardship. 🌍 hashtag#GeniusofPlay hashtag#EarthDay hashtag#NaturePlay hashtag#PlayMatters @GeniusofPlay @TheToyAssociation

🎲✨ Pediatric OT isn’t about fixing children, it’s about unlocking potential. At Play To Do, we live at the intersection of child development, play, and play-product design and we know that pediatric occupational therapists bring something powerful to the table: a deep understanding of how kids engage, move, regulate, and connect. Whether it’s designing a toy that encourages turn-taking, creating a game that builds fine motor skills, or making sure play experiences are inclusive for all learners, OTs help make play more purposeful and accessible. This OT Month, we’re celebrating OTs not just in the therapy room, but as essential partners in product innovation, play-based learning, and inclusive design. 🧠 Want to build better play experiences for all children? 💭 Imagine a line of toys and STEM classroom materials that make science tactile and audible…Bringing concepts like atoms, molecules, and chemical reactions to life for all learners, including those who are blind or visually impaired. This is exactly the kind of inclusive innovation I envision integrating into future product development, where play meets accessibility, and learning becomes a multi-sensory, equitable experience for every child. I was deeply inspired by a brilliant project from the 2024 Global Innovation Challenge. Student innovators Guge Sun, Yansong Tang, and Jiaqi Jia developed chemistry teaching aids that use sound and texture to teach students with visual impairments. These tools make it possible to feel and hear scientific processes, transforming abstract concepts into hands-on, inclusive experiences. In the toy and educational materials space, we have an extraordinary opportunity to bring this kind of thinking into mainstream design. Let’s imagine what’s possible when universal design, sensory learning, and STEM intersect. 🙌 I’d love to connect with others in the toy and learning product industry who are ready to move accessibility from the margins to the center of innovation. Let’s build what’s next together. https://lnkd.in/eh4JyXGX hashtag#GlobalInnovationChallenge hashtag#InclusiveDesign hashtag#AccessibleSTEM hashtag#SensoryLearning hashtag

🌍✨ The future is already full of bold ideas and they’re coming from students around the world. From brilliant inventions and creative problem-solving to culture-building and community change, GIFT (Global Innovation Field Trip) is a platform that celebrates youth innovation in all its forms. These young minds aren’t waiting for permission to lead…they’re already doing it. As someone who works to support development through play, purposeful learning, and inclusive design, I’m constantly amazed by the creativity and capability of kids when they’re given space to imagine, build, and share. 🎥 Watch the video. 📣 Share it with a friend or educator. 🌟 Join the movement. Let’s empower the next generation of changemakers, because kids don’t just have ideas… they have solutions. 🔗 Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/ehz_G5ep #GIFT2025 #YouthInnovation #StudentVoices #CreativeMinds #JoinTheMovement #InspireAndBeInspired #KidsCanLead #InnovationEducation https://www.linkedin.com/posts/antonia-llull-902536162_gift2025-studentvoices-creativeminds-activity-7310772876742197248-MRCE?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAACbgvJIBIfD9QM3p-k943EIw89EifD5RAAA

As a pediatric occupational therapist, I’m always thinking about how toys can support development and spark genuine fun. I am inspired this season to build thoughtful, engaging seasonal baskets for kids of all ages. Whether you're prepping for Easter 🐰 or simply creating a spring surprise to delight and connect with the children in your life, consider including:
🧠 Toys that invite imagination and pretend play
🖐️ Tactile and sensory-friendly items (think soft textures, squeezables, or calming putty)
🧩 Open-ended materials that grow with a child’s creativity and age
📚 A cozy book or two that nurtures connection and communication
💖 And always...something that brings a smile just because
Inclusive, meaningful, and full of possibilities...that’s how I like to build a basket.
